Guardian Home
At Raised Right Pups,
we believe every dog deserves to live in a loving home as a cherished family member, not in a kennel. Our Guardian Home Program allows us to continue improving our breeding program while ensuring our dogs enjoy a full and happy life.
Guardian Home Program
Although not often, there are times when we will seek a guardian home for one of our exceptional dogs. This arrangement provides an opportunity for an approved family to receive a top-quality, health-tested dog at little to no cost in exchange for partnering with us in their breeding career.
How the Program Works:
• The dog lives with the guardian family as a beloved pet.
• We retain breeding rights for an agreed-upon number of litters (typically two or three for a female). Unlimited for a male until he ages out.
• When the female comes into heat, the guardian family will notify us. She will stay with us for breeding and return home afterward.
• When needed for breeding, the male will come to our home (or meet at the veterinarian for collection) for a short time and then return home.
• During pregnancy, the guardian keeps her until approximately two weeks before her due date, at which time she comes to our home to deliver and raise her puppies. She returns to the guardian family after puppies are weaned (around 4 weeks old).
• After fulfilling her breeding obligations, full ownership and registration are transferred to the guardian family at no additional cost.
Benefits for the Guardian Family:
• Receive a high-quality, health-tested dog at little to no cost.
• You may receive 2nd pick-of-the-litter, health-tested dog at little to no cost. (Breeder has first pick)
• We cover all breeding-related expenses, including health testing and whelping costs.
• Be part of an ethical breeding program that prioritizes health, structure, and temperament.
• No added responsibility beyond their normal care as a family pet.
